2011 Memorial Day Ride

The Ride: I remember a few years ago NARC would have larger groups roll out for the holiday rides, but this year not so much and even then many of our normal group were spread out doing other rides, but I am very glad with the 7 friends that showed up to ride with me at the brewery. It was a nice number and as Jamie stated at the end of the ride we all finished together. 

We know that the more show up the more the ride becomes a race, but with just eight of us we had our moments of riding at conversation pace, stop or slow pedal for some mechanical issues and at times we had a nice brisk pace. My data showing time at level below indicates we had a variety of intensities throughout the ride, but to me still very pleasurable. We had just the right amount of miles with challenging terrain for the day as well and toward the end the temperature was approaching the 90 degree mark so it was a timely ending without anyone overheating.

Diane, Jamie and other doing BRAG, I hope you all have a great time cycling. We will miss you the next couple of weeks and we are dreading how strong you will be when you return. :-)
