Ride Description:

Out and back and spin on my normal endurance route. Encountered the German Shepherds today. The last time I made a call to Bartow County Animal Control and it worked for a while as the two were chained up for months, but they were loose today and very aggressive. 

This was my first day using the Garmin Varia RTL515. I am a late adopter and never really thought I would be interested in a radar system, but after using it I can say I now see the benefits of this system. It never made a mistake during the ride. It picked up every approaching car and even picked up cyclist that was getting closer. I am certainly happy with this purchase and the red taillight is one of the brightest I have seen.

Ride Description:

Out and back and spin on the Comet. I missed yesterday because of rain and slipped in about an hour on the trainer. Today was just getting out for an afternoon spin. I had an early warning of the rear derailleur battery being critical and it lasted most of the way. At some point there was no more shifting, but I was close enough to the end to just cruise back. Once stopped I swapped the front and rear batteries and still nothing. I pulled the spare battery from my front storage box and nothing. I was thinking, "Oh crap the blipbox is gone." Fortunately when I got home I swapped batteries from my road bike and the system worked so it was just 3 dead batteries.
