Ride Description:
Much like yesterday except there were less people, less coughing on my part and less miles. Same pace and low intensity at as steady pace as possible. Before I got this flu I was starting what I called Phase 1, which was nothing more than just picking up cycling in general. I feel as if it is too early and I am too much out of shape to start trying to do back to back days of high Tempo or low Threshold. Phase 1 was basically moving into "ride lots" and that alone. Now I hope am recovered enough from this illness to start back with Phase 1 and I hope that Phase 2 will come soon after. Phase 2 will be moving more into a structured plan.

Ride Description:
Two Saturdays ago I was looking up at the ceiling in my bedroom with intense chills and body aches. At that moment was the start of the Flu as it was tested positive a few days later. That whole week I was in the bed or on the couch. I have not had the flu in a very long time and forgot just how bad it can be. The next week most of the intense symptoms were easing up, but the coughing and congestion continued. This past week I tried a doing light spin on the Kickr and then today with almost spring like weather I wanted to get outside. From about mile 2 to mile 6 was constant coughing and so much that I was tempted to turnaround and head back, but the other part of me wanted to continue on. I had to keep the intensity down as that seemed to trigger the urge to cough more. Not too long after I was at the 20 mile marker and ready to head back. Glad I got in the 40 with great weather. Hopefully I can back to regular training next week. That's the hope.
