All was going well on the Comet out and back for what was supposed to be 40 miles adding to my weekly training volume. At the 15 mile marker the rear tube was mostly flat. I had hoped that I could just add some air and tried to ride back. Halfway to Florence Road I was forced to change tubes. The first two flatted and the last had a short stem that I had to add an extension. That did not work either. I walked back to Florence Road. A guy (Tom) offered to give me a ride back to my car, which surprising to both of us was a 20 minute drive. At home trying to figure out what the problem is with the rear wheel, tire or potentially bad tubes. I did not find any issues on the wheel tape or tire, but I did find tiny holes in the tubes. Could be a pinch flat.

Ride Description:
The Free-Flite Guys (Mike, Chris, Pat and Bruce) invited me and Mark to ride up to Fort Mountain with them. We rolled out with them from the Bud Plant, but after a few miles they turned off my route so I kept going due north. Mark and Jeff came with me. I kept my pace until Jeff stayed on the BBC route and we veered right and kept going north. Just past highway 411 Mark was read to head back and at the same time the Free-Flite Guys came by so I joined in and stayed with them until my 40 mile marker. My return was solo.

If you were looking at a picture of today's ride you would think it was a perfect day, but what it would not tell is the chill in the air and the constant wind. Better than sitting on the trainer another day.

Out and back and spin with very fatigued legs and a whole lot of nutty people that live in some sort of weird world where there is no need to make good choices. Saw a whole lot of stupidity today on the Comet. Remind me not to go back there again for a while.

Ride Description:
I was so excited to have a day on the Felt IA16 with good weather. I rolled out of the Budweiser Plant a little after 8 am behind a small group and a small group behind me. They turned off after a mile on the BBC route and I headed north on my route. The rest of the ride was solo with fairly calm air and only a couple dog encounters. Not very fast pace, but still great to get in eighty miles and finished the last mile or so with Neal.
