Endurance Type RideRide Description:
Wet and messy is about how to describe it and a few sketchy moments dodging adult and kids on bikes. I had several close calls with a few crossing front of my path when I called out, "On your left." I scared the crap out of one cyclist so bad that he almost crashed. He was wearing earbuds and could not hear me calling out (twice) and the third time I was on his left when he almost lost it. Not up to me to decide for others whether it is right or wrong to wear earbuds and listen to music while cycling or jogging, but it is also not my fault if the person cannot hear me calling out a warning.
The pavement was extra slick as well after a couple days of rain and a sheen of water still standing on the pavement along with leaves and debris. I felt my back tire slide once, but I made it out and back in fairly quick order considering all the messy pavement and people not paying attention to their surroundings.
I got to test out the IPX water proof value of the Quarq Riken as well. So far so good :-)
